Founder's Notes · MEOW! Franchise Insights · Operations and Support

As we continue to grow our MEOW! cat sitting franchise, our expansion has never been about scale alone. It’s about maintaining a standard.
A standard of care. A standard of service. A standard of ownership.
One of the questions we’re asked most often is where our franchise opportunities are currently available. The answer reflects our commitment to growing with intention.
We’re currently offering franchise opportunities in a select group of states that allow us to onboard new partners efficiently while preserving the integrity of the brand experience. A gradual roll-out means a more streamlined process for bringing on new owners — and more importantly, it lets us focus our time where it matters most: supporting each franchisee in building a business that reflects the quality and care our brand is known for.
Our approach isn’t about rapid expansion. It’s about the right expansion.
States open for franchise inquiries · as of September 2026
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
This list changes as our registrations and filings expand, so if your state isn’t on it yet, it’s worth checking back — or reaching out so we know there’s interest there.
Within these states, we evaluate each inquiry carefully to make sure there’s alignment with our values and long-term vision. Cat care isn’t an afterthought in our business. It’s our sole focus. Caring for cats requires a different level of attentiveness, patience, and trust, and our clients expect a service that’s not only reliable but refined. Calm. Consistent. Professional. That same expectation extends to our franchise owners.
Cats have become one of the most popular household pets in the United States, yet they remain historically underserved when it comes to professional care. That gap is where the opportunity sits — and the numbers behind it are striking.
Cat-owning U.S. households
49M
Nearly four in ten American households, up from 40 million in 2023 — a 23% increase in a single year, according to the APPA’s 2025 Dog & Cat Report.
Homes with three or more cats, since 2018
+36%
Single-cat households fell from 64% to 58% over the same period. More multi-cat homes means longer visits and more frequent bookings.
That second figure is the one I’d point a prospective owner toward. Growth in the number of cat households matters, but growth in cats per household changes the economics of every visit. Meanwhile, more cat owners than ever are specifically seeking:
This is exactly why the cat care segment is growing, and why businesses built around real specialization stand out.
This is not a high-volume, transactional business. It’s relationship-driven and service-focused, designed for people who value:
Attention to detail
Noticing the cat who ate less than usual is the whole job. It doesn’t scale by cutting corners.
Consistency in delivery
The same standard on the Tuesday visit as on the Thanksgiving one, every time.
Long-term relationships
Clients who stay for years, not transactions that end when the trip does.
Genuine love for cats
It’s the part of this work that can’t be trained, and the reason the rest of it holds up.
We provide the structure, the systems, and the support. But the heart of the business is in the care itself.
For the right person, this is more than a business. It’s a chance to build something meaningful inside a growing, highly specialized niche. If you’re in one of our current states and exploring ownership, we’d like to start a conversation.
